Examples Of Precious Moments

£5000 ~ would pay for all the services, clinical and non-clinical, of St. Vincent’s Hospice for a full day. 

£2500 ~ would pay for a team of fully qualified nursing staff to be with our patients for a whole day.

£1000 ~ would pay for 6 people to attend a 10 week Bereavement Support programme.  This helps them honour the difficulties of their grief and supports them to engage with their own life again.

£500 ~ would pay for Syed to receive a full day of care as an in-patient at St. Vincent’s Hospice.  Syed can benefit from 24 hours of specialist nursing care, catering facilities and the support and warmth of a team dedicated to the care of their patients with life limiting illnesses.

£200 ~ would pay for Liz, a fully qualified nurse to provide the care and support that our patients need to help them through their illness.  This pain and symptom management makes life more comfortable for our patients and their families.

£150 ~ would pay for one of our Patient & Family Support workers to counsel Emily (a patient in our care) and support her daughter Rebecca who is 14 to cope with the journey through her mother’s illness and into bereavement.

£100 ~ would pay for Alice to receive a home visit from Linda, one of our Community Nurse Specialists.  This visit provides advice and support to Alice in her own environment addressing the physical and emotional and psychological symptoms of her illness.

£100
~ would pay for David to attend our Daycare Centre for the day.  This involves David being picked up from his home and spending a day in the company of others who are experiencing similar symptoms and also to receive the support he needs to cope with his illness.
 

£60 ~ would pay for a member of our qualified catering team to prepare meals for our patients for a day.  Ben has special dietary requirements and having his meals specially prepared for him, makes it easier for Ben to receive the nutrients that his body requires.

£50 ~ would pay for the services of one of our housekeeping team to maintain the excellent standards of cleanliness in the Hospice, for a day.  This allows Emma to feel that her mother is being cared for in a clean and comfortable environment.

£40 ~ would pay for Jack to spend an hour with our qualified Physiotherapist.  This session helps Jack to main mobility throughout his illness.

£30 ~ would pay for Sarah to benefit from a complimentary therapy session.  Sarah’s mother is currently a patient in the ward and this therapy helps Sarah to cope with the emotional stress she is going through.
